The day-nursery and the youth center adjoin directly to each other
but the design calculation was developed separately.
Both buildings were build up as one construction project but
they are individual structures.
Just the strip foundation have no joints.
The structural system of the solid buildings
consists of reinforced concrete slabs and reinforced concrete walls.
For a precise adjustment of the bearing and a precise determination of the strains and stresses, both parts were analyzed with a spatial FE-model and verified.
From the view of Building Regulations the construction of a second storey is possible. For this reason the possibility of a later expansion of the roof terrace to a complete storey was considered in the actual design
The building was erected directly on a subway tube. For isolating the building from vibrations special bearings are placed between the building and the strip foundation. Under the single columns individual footings are placed. All bearings were adjusted with consideration of the decisive load case (permanent load) and a maximum fundamental frequency of 9.5 Hz.
To ensure that the bearings and the building are without any contact a special construction plan was worked out including the use of prefabricated elements.
